Palo Alto Networks acquires Portkey
Portkey, the LLM gateway/observability layer, is being acquired by Palo Alto Networks. Deal terms were not disclosed in the trade coverage; the standalone gateway pricing page showed no change in this run.
Legal trade press (Bar and Bench, 2026-07-06) reported the acquisition of Portkey by Palo Alto Networks, naming CMS INDUSLAW, Lowenstein Sandler and Morrison Foerster as advising counsel. Deal value was not disclosed.
For a pricing blueprint the open question is whether Portkey’s standalone per-request gateway tiers survive as a purchasable product or fold into a Palo Alto security bundle — the Voyage AI/MongoDB pattern (standalone API preserved) versus absorption. Nothing has moved on the pricing page yet: this run’s Layer-1 diff recorded no price-string change. Treat the standalone rate card as live but at risk, and re-check at the next sweep.
