Qualcomm completes ~$3.9B acquisition of Modular, BentoML's parent

BentoML pricing

Qualcomm closed its all-stock acquisition of Modular (announced 2026-06-24) — the AI infrastructure company that had acquired BentoML on 2026-02-10. BentoCloud is now two acquisitions deep: Modular Inc. now operates as "A Qualcomm Company," and no BentoCloud pricing change has been disclosed at close.

Before

BentoML/BentoCloud operating as an independent unit inside Modular (post its 2026-02-10 acquisition by Modular).

After

Modular — and BentoML/BentoCloud within it — is now a Qualcomm subsidiary; Modular's own site footer now reads "Modular Inc, A Qualcomm Company." No BentoCloud pricing/packaging change disclosed at close.

Qualcomm announced an agreement to acquire Modular Inc. on 2026-06-24 in an all-stock deal valued at approximately $3.9 billion, and confirmed the deal closed on 2026-07-29. Modular is the AI infrastructure company that acquired BentoML on 2026-02-10, folding BentoCloud’s serverless inference platform into its stack alongside MAX and Mojo.

This makes BentoML’s ownership chain two acquisitions deep in under six months: BentoML → Modular (Feb 2026) → Qualcomm (Jul 2026). Modular’s own site now carries “Copyright © 2026 Modular Inc, A Qualcomm Company” in its footer, and Modular co-founder/CEO Chris Lattner took the title EVP of Advanced AI Software and Platforms at Qualcomm. Qualcomm frames the deal as strengthening its data-center and edge AI software stack; Modular’s blog states products/brands (Mojo, MAX, Modular Cloud) continue, with “nothing breaks” for existing BentoML customers.

No BentoCloud pricing or packaging change has been disclosed as of this writing. The corpus’s existing per-second BentoCloud rate card (Starter/Pro/Enterprise) stands unchanged at close; monitor for repricing as Qualcomm integrates the stack.
