Cerebras replaces its free tier with a $5 credit trial and adds Gemma 4 31B to the rate card

Cerebras pricing

Cerebras turned its open Free tier into a $5-credit Free Trial and added Gemma 4 31B at $0.99/$1.49 per 1M tokens, while dating GLM 4.7 for deprecation.

Before

Free tier ("The easiest way to get started with Cerebras") with unmetered access to all models subject to rate limits; two-model public rate card — GPT OSS 120B $0.35/$0.75 and ZAI GLM 4.7 $2.25/$2.75 (Preview).

After

Free Trial granting $5 in free credits after account creation; three-model public rate card — GPT OSS 120B $0.35/$0.75 (Production), Google Deepmind Gemma 4 31B $0.99/$1.49 (Preview, ~1,800 tokens/s), ZAI GLM 4.7 $2.25/$2.75 (Preview, deprecating Aug 17, 2026).

Cerebras made three changes to its public inference pricing page between late May and July 2026.

The most consequential is the free-tier restructure. The entry card was previously labelled simply Free and pitched as “the easiest way to get started with Cerebras” — an open, rate-limited allowance across all models. It is now labelled Free Trial and reads “Get started with $5 in free credits after making an account”. That converts a standing free allowance into a one-time credit grant, moving Cerebras closer to the credit-trial norm used by most inference APIs and removing the perpetual free path to the platform.

Second, the rate card grew from two models to three with the addition of Google Deepmind Gemma 4 31B at $0.99 input / $1.49 output per million tokens (~1,800 tokens/s). It slots between GPT OSS 120B and ZAI GLM 4.7 on price. The docs classify it as a Preview model — evaluation only, not for production — which leaves GPT OSS 120B as the only production-sanctioned model on the public rate card.

Third, ZAI GLM 4.7 picked up a footnoted deprecation date of August 17, 2026, alongside a migration guide in the docs. Its $2.25/$2.75 rates are unchanged.

Cerebras Code pricing was unchanged — Pro at $50/month (24 million tokens/day) and Max at $200/month (120m tokens/day) — and both tiers remain listed as SOLD OUT.

Free tier becomes a $5 credit trial; Gemma 4 31B joins the rate card

Cerebras replaced its open, rate-limited Free tier with a Free Trial that grants $5 in one-time credits after account creation, ending the perpetual free path onto the platform. Docs terms tighten it further: the credits are issued only after adding a verified payment method, and they expire 30 days after grant. The public rate card grew back to three models with Google Deepmind Gemma 4 31B at $0.99 input / $1.49 output per million tokens (~1,800 tokens/s), classified Preview. ZAI GLM 4.7 kept its $2.25/$2.75 rates but picked up a footnoted deprecation date of Aug 17, 2026, leaving GPT OSS 120B ($0.35/$0.75) as the only production-sanctioned model on the public card. Cerebras Code Pro ($50/mo) and Max ($200/mo) were unchanged and still listed SOLD OUT.
