Character.ai launches a $2.99/month (c.ai) lite tier between Free and c.ai+
Character.ai adds a new (c.ai) lite subscription tier at $2.99/month or $1.49/week, sitting between the free tier and the unchanged $9.99/month c.ai+ plan.
Two-tier lineup: Free, and c.ai+ at $9.99/month or $94.99/year.
Three-tier lineup: Free, new (c.ai) lite at $2.99/month (or $1.49/week), and c.ai+ at $9.99/month or $94.99/year (unchanged).
The subscription page now shows a tab switcher between “(c.ai) lite” and “(c.ai+)”, each with its own billing-cadence toggle. The lite tab reads: “$6.48 $2.99 per month” with a “save 54%” badge next to a Weekly/Monthly switch, and its feature summary lists “Less Ads · Better memory · Try top models daily · Chat customization” versus c.ai+‘s “No ads · Best memory · Unlimited top models · Chat customization.” The underlying comparison table also introduces new named chat-model tiers (PipSqueak 2 / PipSqueak 2 Rawr on Free and lite; DeepSqueak / LongSqueak as a “Daily taste” on lite versus full access on c.ai+) alongside a three-way memory ladder (Basic / Better / Best) and a lite-exclusive lower daily-limit band. The existing c.ai+ price ($9.99/mo, $94.99/yr) is unchanged.
