Chargebee retires Starter/Performance, launches single Flow plan for Billing

Chargebee pricing

Chargebee replaced its Starter (free to $250K cumulative billing) and Performance ($7,188/yr) tiers with a single Flow plan billed at 0.80% of billing pay-as-you-go or 0.65% plus a $99/mo fee on commit, ending the free entry threshold.

Before

Starter: USD 0/mo, free for the first USD 250K of cumulative billing then 0.75% on billing. Performance: USD 7,188/yr (annual commitment, billed monthly) for up to USD 100K billing/mo. Enterprise: quoted.

After

Flow — Pay as you go: 0.80% of monthly billing value, $0 platform fee, no free threshold. Flow — Commit monthly: $99/mo platform fee plus 0.65% of monthly billing value. Both include 100M usage events/mo. Enterprise Plus: quoted, annual commitment, 500M usage events/mo.

Chargebee’s Billing product page dropped its three-tier Starter/Performance/Enterprise structure in favor of a single plan called Flow, sold with a choice of two rate structures rather than separate subscription steps. The prior USD 250,000 cumulative-billing free threshold on Starter — a defining feature of Chargebee’s pricing since at least 2022 — no longer appears on the page; Flow’s percentage-of-billing rate now applies from a customer’s first dollar of billing. The published rate also moved from a flat 0.75% to 0.80% on the pay-as-you-go option, with a new 0.65% option available in exchange for a $99/mo platform fee. Both Flow variants introduce a named usage-events ingestion allowance (100M/mo), raised to 500M/mo on the renamed “Enterprise Plus” tier — a capacity control that did not exist on the prior page. Flow’s CTA is a self-serve “Get started,” reversing the demo-gating that Performance had introduced. Chargebee’s separate “Chargebee for Startups” offer (free billing to $1M cumulative revenue for qualifying startups) remains in place but no longer names a specific retired plan in its copy.

Pricing page repackaged into four product tabs — Billing, CPQ, RevRec and Growth

Chargebee's pricing page is now openly reachable and organised as four product tabs. Retention has been replaced by Growth (Starter $0 for Chargebee Billing customers; Enterprise custom-priced on the number of active subscribers) and a CPQ line has been added (CPQ Lite free for the first 50 quotes, included on every Billing tier; full CPQ quote-only). Receivables no longer appears on the pricing page. Billing keeps three tiers — Starter USD 0/mo free for the first USD 250K of cumulative billing then 0.75% on billing, Performance USD 7,188/yr (annual commitment, billed monthly) for up to USD 100K billing/mo, and quoted Enterprise — with Performance now leading to a demo rather than self-serve checkout.
