Customer.io is building its own billing infrastructure on Metronome and Stripe
A Revenue Manager posting discloses an active internal build: "our billing infrastructure project (Metronome/Stripe) is moving fast." The role owns month-end revenue close and ASC 606 recognition across "subscription and consumption/usage-based" arrangements, and the team currently has no dedicated revenue-accounting owner. This is the meter behind Customer.io's own hybrid profile/email/AI-credit pricing — bought (Metronome for metering, Stripe for payments rails), not built in-house, and still in flight rather than in production. A separate Director, GTM Finance req asks for experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, Gong and Drivetrain, pointing to a bought planning and GTM finance stack around it.
The unified page shows Essentials from $100/mo (5k profiles) scaling via a selector to $505+ at 50k+, Premium from $1,000/mo, and Enterprise custom. An AI Agent (beta) is metered by Standard/Elevated/Custom session-limit tiers plus $10-per-100K LLM-action credits; overages run $0.009/profile and $0.12/1,000 emails. Journeys and Data Pipelines are bundled into the same tiers. (AI-Agent copy is client-rendered and not Wayback-verifiable; dates confirmed only in the live capture.)
