Linear ships Coding Sessions with prepaid AI credits
Linear launched Coding Sessions (June 11, 2026), its first usage-metered feature — billed from a workspace-level prepaid AI-credit balance shared across AI tools.
Per-seat only; AI agents bundled into seats with no usage meter
Per-seat plans plus a prepaid AI-credit balance for Coding Sessions
Coding Sessions is the first crack in Linear’s otherwise meter-free, per-seat model. Credits are pooled at the workspace level and shared across AI features; workspaces on Basic, Business, and Enterprise received a promotional balance ($20 × unsuspended users) at launch, and the default model is Claude Opus 4.8. Linear still charges no per-seat AI surcharge — Coding Sessions is the single place where spend can drift via usage.
Live pricing page shows Free ($0, capped at 250 issues / 2 teams, includes the Agent platform and Linear Agent), Basic $10 per user/mo, Business $16 per user/mo (both billed yearly), and custom Enterprise. Business now includes Triage Intelligence, Linear Agent automations (beta), and Code Intelligence (beta) at no AI surcharge. Coding Sessions require AI credits.
