MiniMax debuts Token Plan for Teams and closes Music/Lyrics APIs to new users
MiniMax added a dedicated Token Plan for Teams surface (per-seat licensing plus a shared Credits pool) and closed its paid Music and Lyrics Generation APIs to new signups, grandfathering existing customers.
Token Plan sold only as an individual subscription; Music Generation and Lyrics Generation APIs open to all new signups, with free RPM-3 music tiers available.
Token Plan for Teams sells the same Plus/Max/Ultra tiers as per-seat licenses with 1:1 assignment, mid-cycle reassignment, and a shared Credits pool; Music/Lyrics Generation APIs closed to new users effective Aug 20, 2026 (existing paying users unaffected) and the free music-generation tiers were retired outright.
MiniMax’s international docs now carry Token Plan for Teams as its own documented pricing surface: a Team Owner buys the same Plus/Max/Ultra Token Plan seats and assigns them 1:1 to members, can reassign a seat mid-billing-cycle without resetting its usage state, and can fund a shared Credits pool that members without an individual seat can still draw from if access is enabled. Pay-as-you-go API keys remain on a separate per-team wallet.
Separately, MiniMax closed its paid Music Generation and Lyrics Generation APIs to new users effective August 20, 2026 — existing paying customers keep access at the same $0.15-per-track / $0.01-per-song rates — while retiring the free music-generation tiers (Music-3.0-free, Music-2.6-free, music-cover-free) entirely. MiniMax is steering affected users toward its MiniMax Audio consumer app or the open-source MiniMax Music 3 model on Hugging Face.
MiniMax raises Token Plan subscription prices 10% on the international USD card — Plus $20→$22, Max $50→$55, Ultra $120→$132 per month — with agent-concurrency limits, quota windows, and per-token API rates unchanged. The increase applies uniformly across all three tiers rather than to a single tier, first observed in the August 2026 capture.
