OpenAI refreshed its API pricing page to lead with a new GPT-5.6 flagship line — three named models replacing the prior GPT-5.5/GPT-5.4 headline lineup:
- GPT-5.6 Sol — flagship for ambitious agentic work: $5.00/1M input, $0.50 cached, $30.00/1M output.
- GPT-5.6 Terra — balanced, efficient high-volume work: $2.50/1M input, $0.25 cached, $15.00/1M output.
- GPT-5.6 Luna — fast, affordable everyday work: $1.00/1M input, $0.10 cached, $6.00/1M output.
The top two price points (Sol, Terra) are unchanged from the prior GPT-5.5/GPT-5.4 tiers, but the “everyday” tier is repriced: Luna at $1/$6 sits above the outgoing GPT-5.4 mini ($0.75/$4.50). The prior GPT-5.5/5.4/mini/nano models remain available via the API but are no longer featured on the marketing pricing page.
The same refresh added a slate of new multimodal models — GPT-Realtime-2.1 and GPT-Realtime-2.1 mini (voice), GPT-Realtime-Translate ($0.034/min), GPT-Realtime-Whisper ($0.017/min), and GPT-Image-2 — plus Containers tool pricing (1 GB for $0.03 / 64 GB for $1.92 per container, moving to per-20-minute-session billing on March 31, 2026). Consumer ChatGPT subscription prices (Free / Go $8 / Plus $20 / Pro $100 & $200 / Business $20-$25/seat / Enterprise custom) are unchanged this cycle.
