Kong acquires OpenMeter; OpenMeter Cloud becomes Kong Metering & Billing
On 2025-09-03 Kong Inc. announced its acquisition of OpenMeter (YC W23); co-founders Peter Marton and András Tóth joined Kong. OpenMeter Cloud was rebranded to Kong (Konnect) Metering & Billing and, by early 2026, the openmeter.io/pricing page was reduced to a migration announcement with no plan grid or public prices.
