Photoroom drops its Free plan card and publishes absolute AI-credit and export allowances
Photoroom repackaged its app plans: the Free card is gone, and Pro/Max/Ultra now publish hard numbers - up to 8,000/25,000/75,000 AI credits and 1,000/3,000/10,000 exports per month.

Photoroom’s app pricing page was restructured between its 2026-06-04 and 2026-07-22 captures. The most buyer-visible change is that the allowance columns went from relative multipliers to hard monthly numbers, which finally makes the app track forecastable in the way the per-image API track already was.
Three mechanics changed alongside the numbers. First, a new Core tools vs Credit AI tools split: Background Remover, Retouch, AI Product Fixer, AI Shadows (Presets), AI Fill, AI Expand/Resize and Image Enhancer are now “included on every paid plan with no credit cost” within fair-use limits, while Video Generator, Virtual Model, AI Backgrounds Studio and Edit with AI draw on the shared credit pool. Second, exports were redefined - they now count every image saved from the editor, Batch, or a Shopify sync, not just Batch exports, with API and MCP usage excluded on a separate allowance. Third, every paid app plan now includes a wallet of API/MCP credits worth the plan’s price, charged at API rates, which welds the subscription and usage tracks together for the first time.
The Free plan card was removed from the page (the subhead still reads “Start for free”), the Weekly billing option disappeared in favour of Monthly / Yearly with a “Save 33%” annual label, and Adjustable AI Shadows plus Visual QA tools became Enterprise-only. API per-image rates were unchanged at $0.02 (Basic / Remove Background) and $0.10 (Plus / Image Editing). Plan dollar amounts remain hidden - the card price fields render blank and prices are only revealed in the app checkout - and the credit FAQ now warns that “the monthly credit amount included with your plan may vary depending on your country or region.”
