Upstash Box drops its 'Developer Preview / pricing may change' banner
Upstash removed the 'Upstash Box is in Developer Preview! APIs and pricing may change' disclaimer from its Box pricing page and folded Keep Alive into a per-box toggle inside Pay as You Go, with no price changes across any of its six products.
As of 2026-07-22, the Box pricing page carried the banner 'Upstash Box is in Developer Preview! APIs and pricing may change,' and Keep Alive ($8/$16/$32 per month by size) was presented as its own top-level plan card alongside Free, Pay as You Go and Enterprise.
As of 2026-08-11, the Box pricing page has no 'preview' or 'pricing may change' language anywhere, and Keep Alive now appears as a toggle inside the Pay as You Go card rather than a separate top-level card. The underlying prices are unchanged: $0.10/$0.20/$0.40 per active CPU hour by size (Small/Medium/Large), $8/$16/$32 per month on Keep Alive, $0.10/GB/month storage.
Upstash’s per-request and Fixed rates were unchanged across all six products (Redis, Vector, QStash, Workflow, Search, Box) in this check, matching the muted week-over-week text signal. The notable move is packaging-presentation, not price: Box’s pricing page no longer carries the “Developer Preview / APIs and pricing may change” disclaimer that had been live since at least 2026-07-22, and there’s no explicit “Generally Available” language to replace it — the caveat was simply removed. Keep Alive, previously a distinct fourth plan card next to Free / Pay as You Go / Enterprise, is now surfaced as a size toggle inside the Pay as You Go card, though the $8/$16/$32-per-month flat rate by box size is identical to before.
Separately, Upstash’s Redis pricing page added a new FAQ entry documenting a no-signup instant free database: a POST request to upstash.com/start-redis returns working Redis credentials immediately, with the temporary database auto-deleting after 3 days unless claimed into an account. This wasn’t present in the 2026-07-22 capture of the same page.
