Braintrust puts a price on data retention: $0.50/GB/mo on Pro
Braintrust's pricing page now publishes a retention-storage rate — Pro keeps 30-day included retention, then bills $0.50 per GB per month for data held beyond it. Tier fees unchanged.
Comparison row read 'Default retention: 14 days (Starter) / 30 days (Pro) / Custom (Enterprise)' with no rate attached — retention was a plain feature gate.
Row renamed 'Included data retention': Starter 14-day, Pro '30-day retention, then $0.50 per GB per month', Enterprise custom. The Pro plan card carries a matching '+ $0.50/GB/mo' badge.

Retention has quietly become Braintrust’s fourth meter. Until this week the platform billed on three axes — Topics token credits ($10 included on Starter, $249 on Pro, then $0.06/mtok input and $0.40/mtok output), processed data (1 GB / 5 GB included, then +$4/GB and +$3/GB), and scores (10K / 50K included, then $2.50 and $1.50 per 1,000). Retention was a feature gate: 14 days on Starter, 30 days on Pro, custom on Enterprise, with no published way to buy more short of an Enterprise contract.
The July 2026 page adds a rate. Pro can now hold data past its 30-day base window at $0.50 per GB per month, shown both in the plan card and in the renamed “Included data retention” comparison row. Braintrust’s billing FAQ had already described “retention storage” as a separate Pro charge without naming a price; the pricing page now names it. Critically, the charge is measured at ingestion like every other Braintrust meter — the FAQ states that deleting data, applying a retention policy, or shortening the window does not reduce the month’s retention-storage usage.
Everything else held: $0 Starter, $249/mo Pro, custom Enterprise, unlimited users, projects, playgrounds, experiments and datasets on every tier, and the same 6-12 months of free Pro for qualifying startups at Series A or earlier with at least $100K raised.
The pricing page's retention row changed from an unpriced 'Default retention: 14 days / 30 days / Custom' to 'Included data retention', with Pro now published as '30-day retention, then $0.50 per GB per month'. Tier fees ($0 / $249 / custom) and the token-credit, processed-data and score rates were unchanged.
