Composio's Aug 15 repricing shipped without the announced Business tier or $4/1K overage

Composio pricing

Composio's live pricing diverges from its July plan: no Business tier, Free jumps to 100K tool calls/mo, overage lands near $0.30/1K vs. the announced $4/1K.

Before

Announced 2026-07-23 for Aug 15: Free $0 (20K tool calls) / Pro $29/mo (50K tool calls) / Business $599/mo / Enterprise Custom; six metered dimensions; tool-call overage $4/1K ($3/1K via Sessions).

After

Live as of 2026-08-25: Free $0/mo (100K tool calls, 50K trigger events, 1M LLM tokens, 3 team members) / Pro $29/mo prepaid usage credit (overage $0.0003/tool call, $0.003/trigger event, $3.75/M tokens) / Enterprise Custom — no Business tier. Premium tools now bill at provider cost plus a 5% platform fee, replacing the old flat 3x multiplier.

Composio’s own July 23, 2026 announcement previewed a four-tier Free/Pro/Business/Enterprise structure with a steep tool-call overage hike to $4 per 1,000 calls. The version that actually went live on August 15 and was captured on 2026-08-25 is different in almost every particular: the $599 “Business” tier never shipped (its would-be features — IP allowlist, DPA, BAA, higher API rate limits — now sit as paid add-ons on Pro or included features on Enterprise), Free’s tool-call allowance is 100K/month rather than the 20K that was announced, and tool-call overage landed at roughly $0.30 per 1,000 calls — about 13x lower than the announced rate and close to the old pre-announcement overage price.

The premium-tool billing model also changed shape: Composio’s original (July 2025–August 2026) plans billed premium tools — search APIs, code sandboxes, ML inference — at a clean 3x multiplier over a standard tool call. The version now live abandons that multiplier for a pass-through of the underlying provider’s price plus a flat 5% platform fee. Per Composio’s own FAQ, that change applies to every customer, including those grandfathered on legacy Totally Free / Ridiculously Cheap / Serious Business plans, starting September 1, 2026 — a narrower grandfathering window than the blanket “keep your plan through December 31, 2026” language implies.

Composio’s premium-tools documentation (docs.composio.dev/toolkits/premium-tools) has not been updated to match: as captured on 2026-08-25 it still describes the retired Totally Free / Ridiculously Cheap / Serious Business plans and their 3x premium-tool rates as current.

From Composio's pricing timeline
Repricing shipped differently than announced — no Business tier, Free jumps to 100K calls, overage lands near old rate

Composio's August 15, 2026 repricing (previewed July 23) went live diverging sharply from the announcement: no $599 Business tier appeared (its planned features — IP allowlist, DPA, BAA, higher rate limits — became Pro/Enterprise add-ons instead), Free's tool-call allowance shipped at 100K/mo versus the 20K announced, Pro's $29 fee is a prepaid usage credit rather than a fixed allowance, and tool-call overage landed near $0.30/1K versus the $4/1K announced — about 13x lower and close to the pre-announcement rate. Premium-tool billing also moved from a flat 3x multiplier to provider cost plus a flat 5% platform fee, applying to all customers, including legacy plans, from September 1, 2026.
