Diffbot adds Web Search as a fifth credit-metered product
Diffbot launched a Web Search API (1 credit per search) alongside Extract, Crawl, Natural Language, and Knowledge Graph, folding it into the existing $0/$299/$899/custom credit-pool plans without changing any headline price.
Four named APIs (Extract, Crawl, Natural Language, Knowledge Graph) metered from one shared credit pool; no Web Search product.
Five products metered from the same credit pool — Extract, Crawl, Natural Language, Knowledge Graph, and the new Web Search (1 credit/search) — bundled into the unchanged Free/Startup/Plus/Enterprise tiers ($0/$299/$899/custom).
Diffbot’s pricing page also shipped a full visual redesign (dark theme plus an interactive workload calculator with sliders for pages extracted, KG entities queried, NLP requests, and web searches) alongside the new product, but the underlying credit allotments, per-credit overage rates, and tier prices are unchanged from the prior capture. The redesign also surfaced a previously undocumented mechanic: the Free plan does not auto-bill overage — exceeding 10,000 credits/month or the rate limit returns a 429 Quota Exceeded response until the quota resets, whereas paid plans bill overage automatically pro rata.
Diffbot rebuilt its marketing site (dark-theme, docs-style nav, new URL structure) and shipped a new interactive cost-estimator calculator on the pricing page. A Web Search API launched, billed at 1 credit/search and bundled into the same 'four APIs included' entitlement as Extract, Natural Language, and Knowledge Graph on every plan (Crawl stays gated to Plus+). Free ($0, 10K credits), Startup ($299/mo, 250K credits), Plus ($899/mo, 1M credits), and Enterprise (custom) headline prices are unchanged. The Enterprise 'Talk to Sales' CTA now opens a mailto link instead of a dedicated /demo request form.
