OpenRouter launches a Business tier with EU/US in-region routing
OpenRouter added a Business tier (8% fee vs. 5.5% Standard) that locks inference to EU-only or US-only providers, with higher Workspace caps and a DPA on request.
Two self-serve tiers — Free and Pay-as-you-go/Standard (5.5% platform fee on credit purchases) — plus quoted Enterprise; BYOK adds a 5% usage fee on top of any tier.
New self-serve Business tier at an 8% platform fee: requests are locked to providers inside the EU or the US via eu.openrouter.ai/us.openrouter.ai with no cross-region fallback, plus a higher Workspace cap and a DPA signed copy on request; SSO/SCIM and postpaid invoicing remain Enterprise-only.
OpenRouter added a fourth self-serve pricing surface, Business, slotted between Pay-as-you-go and Enterprise. The page states plainly: “8% platform fee on credit purchases, no monthly minimum, no contract” — versus 5.5% on Standard — and in exchange locks every request to providers inside a single region: point the same API key and model list at eu.openrouter.ai or us.openrouter.ai and the request never falls back to a provider outside that region, even if none is available.
Business also raises the Workspace cap above Standard and makes OpenRouter’s DPA available as a signed copy on request (Standard covers data processing only through the Terms of Service). SSO/SCIM and postpaid invoicing remain gated to Enterprise. As of this capture, OpenRouter had not published a blog post or changelog entry for the new tier, and it does not yet appear in the main /pricing comparison table — it is live only at openrouter.ai/business.
