You.com puts a price on its top Research tier: Frontier listed at $1,200 per 1k calls
You.com replaced the open-ended greater-than-$2,000 label on its Frontier research-effort tier with a firm $1,200.00 per 1,000 calls, cutting the top of its Research API range by roughly 40%.

You.com prices its Research API purely by research_effort tier. Every self-serve tier held steady in this capture — lite $12, standard $50, deep $100, exhaustive $450 per 1,000 calls — as did the Web Search API ($5.00/1k calls), the Contents API ($1.00/1k pages), and the Finance Research API (deep $110, exhaustive $500 per 1k calls).
The one card that moved is Frontier, the Contact-Sales top tier. It previously carried a deliberately open-ended ”>$2,000.00 /1k calls” label; it now shows a firm $1,200.00 /1k calls alongside the same “Maximum depth—our most powerful research tier” description. That is both a price cut at the top of the range and a transparency change: the highest-effort tier is now quotable before a sales conversation, narrowing the Research API’s intra-endpoint spread from an unbounded range to a definite 100x ($12 to $1,200). Frontier still does not appear in the Research API docs’ effort-level table, which lists only the four self-serve tiers.
The docs also added a no-signup trial path in this period: Search is now free to try over the MCP server at https://api.you.com/mcp?profile=free, with no account required, alongside the standard $100 free credit for new accounts.
The Web Search API pricing card was restructured from a flat $5.00/1k-calls rate to 'Free / 100 calls per day' with the $5.00/1k rate applying only after that daily quota. Separately, the Research API docs' effort-level table added the Frontier tier ($1,200/1k, requires background: true), closing the docs gap noted in the prior capture. Every other rate held: Contents $1/1k, Research lite $12 / standard $50 / deep $100 / exhaustive $450 / Frontier $1,200, Finance Research deep $110 / exhaustive $500, $100 account credit.
