You.com adds a 100-calls/day free tier to its Web Search API

You.com pricing

You.com's Web Search API now gives 100 free calls per day before its $5-per-1,000-calls rate applies, replacing the prior flat meter; the docs haven't caught up.

Before

Web Search API priced flat at $5.00 per 1,000 calls (1-100 results per call), with no separate daily free allowance beyond the general $100 account credit

After

Web Search API pricing card shows 'Free / 100 calls per day', with the existing $5.00 per 1,000 calls rate applying only after that daily quota

You.com restructured the pricing card for its flagship Web Search API. Where the card previously led with a flat “$5.00 / 1k calls” rate, it now leads with “Free / 100 calls per day” and shows the $5.00-per-1,000-calls rate as what applies only after that daily allowance is used. Every other endpoint on the page held steady: Contents API $1.00/1k pages, Research API lite $12 through exhaustive $450 (Frontier remains $1,200, Contact Sales), and Finance Research API deep $110 / exhaustive $500.

The change has not yet propagated to the Search API’s own documentation page (you.com/docs/search/overview), which still describes a flat $5.00-per-1,000-calls rate with only the general $100 new-account credit mentioned — no reference to the new daily quota. That leaves the marketing pricing page and the technical docs temporarily out of sync, with the pricing page being the more current source.

Separately, the Research API documentation’s effort-level table added the previously-missing Frontier tier ($1,200 per 1,000 calls, requiring background: true and available only asynchronously), closing a gap the prior capture had flagged where Frontier appeared on the pricing page but not in the docs.
