Zhipu AI pricing

Z.ai's GLM Coding Plan now lists at $18 (Lite), $72 (Pro) and $160 (Max) per month with a monthly/quarterly/yearly discount ladder, up from roughly $10/$30/$80.

Before

GLM Coding Plan billed quarterly at roughly $30/$90/$240 per quarter (~$10/$30/$80 per month) for Lite/Pro/Max, with quotas stated as prompts per 5 hours; the API topped out at GLM-4.6 / GLM-4.5 at $0.6 in / $2.2 out per 1M tokens.

After

GLM Coding Plan lists at $18/$72/$160 per month with a billing-term discount ladder - monthly -10% ($16.2/$64.8/$144), quarterly -20% ($14.4/$57.6/$128), yearly -30% ($12.6/$50.4/$112) - and quotas restated as relative multiples (Pro = 5x Lite usage, Max = 20x Lite usage). The API card adds GLM-5.2 and GLM-5.1 at $1.4 in / $4.4 out, GLM-5 at $1 / $3.2, GLM-5-Turbo at $1.2 / $4.0 and GLM-4.5-X at $2.2 / $8.9, plus per-image, per-video, per-use web search and per-agent SKUs.

Zhipu AI’s coding subscription has stopped being the cheapest thing on the market. The GLM Coding Plan, which launched in September 2025 with a $3 first month and settled near $10 a month for Lite after the promo was withdrawn in February 2026, now carries an $18 / $72 / $160 monthly list price. The cheapest possible entry is $12.6 a month on annual billing (renewing at $151.2 a year from the second year) — still low against Western coding agents, but roughly a 26% increase on the previous effective Lite rate and a 40% increase at Max.

Two structural changes travel with the price move. First, the quota language changed: instead of “~80 prompts per 5 hours”, the tiers are now described relatively — Pro is “5x Lite usage”, Max is “20x Lite usage” — which makes cross-tier comparison easier but absolute capacity less knowable. Second, the discount now lives in the billing term rather than in a first-purchase promo, with a published Monthly -10% / Quarterly -20% / Yearly -30% ladder and the renewal rate printed on each card.

On the API side, the docs price card has grown a premium top end. The GLM-5 line (GLM-5.2, GLM-5.1, GLM-5, GLM-5-Turbo) prices at $1 to $1.4 input and $3.2 to $4.4 output per 1M tokens — roughly double the GLM-4.x flagships, which hold at $0.6 / $2.2. GLM-4.5-X sits highest at $2.2 / $8.9. Free Flash tiers persist (GLM-4.7-Flash, GLM-4.5-Flash, GLM-4.6V-Flash), and the card now also meters images ($0.01–$0.015), video ($0.2–$0.4 per clip), web search ($0.01 per use), speech ($0.03 per 1M tokens) and packaged agents ($0.7–$3 per 1M tokens).
