BambooHR publishes a price for the first time in a decade — $10 USD/mo per employee, $250/mo floor under 26 employees
After at least ten years of showing packages with no numbers, BambooHR's pricing page gained a headline rate — 'BambooHR plans start at just $10 USD/mo per employee' — and quantified its small-company flat rate at $250/mo for companies with 25 employees or fewer. The same refresh introduced applicant-tracking capacity caps of 5, 25 and 50 job openings by tier and widened the 15% Payroll-plus-Benefits bundle discount from 'the Core or Pro plan' to 'any plan'.

This is the single most consequential transparency change in BambooHR’s history. Every archived pricing page from September 2015 through 5 August 2025 carries package names, a feature matrix and a “Get a Free Price Quote” button — and no dollar figure of any kind. The snapshot of 15 September 2025 carries four.
Three things changed at once.
A price appeared. The line “BambooHR plans start at just $10 USD/mo per employee” sits above the plan grid, with the asterisk resolving to “Volume and non-profit discounts are available.” Note what this is not: it is an entry anchor, not a rate card. Pro and Elite still showed no number. The full three-price card — Core $10, Pro $17, Elite $25 — did not reach the plan cards until the March 2026 page, and the FAQ prose did not enumerate all three until June 2026. BambooHR published its rate card in three instalments over roughly nine months, cheapest number first.
The floor got a number. The small-company flat rate, present in the FAQ since December 2022 and always unquantified, became “a monthly flat rate starting at $250/mo” for companies with 25 employees or fewer. At 25 employees that is an effective $10 per employee — Core parity — but the effective rate rises as the company shrinks, reaching $25 per employee at 10 employees. Which plan tier the flat rate buys is still not stated.
Capacity caps arrived. The compare-all-features matrix gained the first genuinely consumption-shaped entitlement on the page: an Applicant Tracking System row reading 5 Job Openings / 25 Job Openings / 50 Job Openings across Core, Pro and Elite. No overage rate is published — exceed the cap and the remedy is an upgrade, not a variable charge — so this is an entitlement ceiling rather than a meter. Compliance Training was tiered the same way weeks later, moving to 1 / 15 / 300+ courses between 8 October and 6 November 2025.
One smaller commercial change rode along: the 15% Payroll-plus-Benefits-Administration bundle discount, scoped since February 2024 to “the Core or Pro plan,” was rewritten to “any plan,” pulling the new Elite tier into the bundle.
Dating note: the date recorded here is the first archive snapshot in which the published price is observed. BambooHR published no changelog entry announcing the change.
