Cursor cuts Claude Sonnet 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol, replaces Gemini 3.6 Flash
Cursor's Other Models pool got cheaper: Claude Sonnet 5 down ~33% (input $3 to $2, output $15 to $10 per 1M tokens), GPT-5.6 Sol down ~20-33% ($5/$30 to $4/$20), and Gemini 3.7 Flash replaced Gemini 3.6 Flash at roughly half the per-token rate.

Cursor’s Models & Pricing docs continue passing through third-party model API pricing at cost inside the Other Models usage pool — the same mechanic that cut GPT-5.6 Luna and Terra on 2026-08-11. This time Claude Sonnet 5 dropped roughly a third across every rate dimension, GPT-5.6 Sol dropped 20-33%, and Gemini 3.6 Flash was retired in favor of Gemini 3.7 Flash at about half the old per-token price. Cursor also added Grok 4.6 and Grok 4.6 (Fast) to the first-party Cursor Models pool alongside the existing Grok 4.5 line, at the same rates as Grok 4.5 except a lower Fast-mode output rate ($12 vs. $18 per 1M tokens). Plan-level pricing (Hobby free, Pro $20, Pro Plus $60, Ultra $200, Teams Standard $40 / Premium $120, Start ₹649 India) was unchanged, and Cursor’s Yearly billing toggle was confirmed to apply a 20% discount (Pro $16/mo, Teams Standard $32/user/mo).
