Paycom launches GONE, monetised by tier gate rather than by meter

Paycom pricing

GONE automates time-off request decisions instead of routing them to a manager. It ships inside the Time-Off Requests application, which the Time and Labor Management matrix marks Complete-only, so a Core client cannot reach it. Paycom charges no per-decision fee.

Before

Time-off requests were routed to a manager for approval. The Time-Off Requests application already existed and was already outside Core.

After

Time-off decisions are made automatically by GONE, delivered through the same Complete-only Time-Off Requests application. Four of the five rows in the Time and Labor Management matrix are Complete-only; labor allocation is the sole Core inclusion.

GONE is Paycom’s second AI launch and its second answer to the same monetisation question, arrived at from a different direction than Beti.

Where Beti was placed in Core and charged nothing incremental, GONE sits behind a tier gate. It is delivered through the Time-Off Requests application, and on Paycom’s Core-vs-Complete matrix the Time and Labor Management line has exactly one Core inclusion — labor allocation. Scheduling, time and attendance, time clocks and terminals, and time-off requests are all marked with the orange cross for Core. A Paycom client on the minimum package cannot buy GONE without moving that whole product line to Complete.

There is still no meter. Paycom charges no per-decision, per-request or per-approval fee for automated time-off decisioning, which is notable given that the decision is exactly the kind of discrete, countable event that vendors elsewhere in this corpus have turned into a consumption line.

The marketing carries a disclosure detail worth recording alongside the launch. The GONE page headlines “a projected ROI of up to 821%”, and its footnote gives the range behind that figure: “a three-year projected ROI of 102%-821%” for a composite organisation, from a study Forrester Consulting conducted on Paycom’s behalf in October 2024. The headline is the ceiling of a spread whose floor is roughly eight times lower. When Paycom launched IWant nineteen months later it headlined “UP TO 431%” with a footnote that discloses no range at all.

GONE launches: automated time-off decisioning, gated behind Complete

Paycom announced GONE, which automates time-off request decisions rather than routing them to a manager. It is delivered through the Time-Off Requests application, which the Time and Labor Management matrix marks Complete-only. Paycom charges no per-decision meter for it; the monetisation is the tier gate.
