Gusto's Premium plan exits sales-only pricing with a public $180/mo + $22/mo per person

Gusto’s Premium tier was introduced in July 2022 without a price. From the 19 August 2022 snapshot through 7 June 2024 the card read “Exclusive pricing / Contact us for details” with a “Talk to sales” call to action — the only gated tier in an otherwise fully published lineup.

By the 12 July 2024 snapshot the card shows $180/mo plus $22/mo per person, with a 25%-off promotion at $135/mo plus $16.50/mo per person for the first three months. There are no intervening archive captures, so the change lands somewhere in that five-week window.

Two things make this notable. First, the direction: most vendors move a published tier behind sales as they push upmarket, and Gusto moved in the opposite direction. Second, un-gating the price did not add a sales gate elsewhere — Premium remains self-serve, purchasable from the pricing page without a quote, and every Gusto tier still changes in-product.

The published rate also finally lets a buyer price the ladder end to end: Simple at $40 + $6, Plus at $80 + $12, Premium at $180 + $22. The base fee roughly doubles at each step while the per-person rate roughly doubles then adds 83%, so the top tier is disproportionately a headcount play.
