Gusto launches Gusto Solo, a plan for one-person S corps
Gusto announced Gusto Solo, a purpose-built plan for solopreneurs covering compliant self-pay, a reasonable-salary calculator, S corp election and a Solopreneur Platform bundling Solo 401(k), health benefits, bill pay and contractor payments. The launch post carried no price; Solo now lists at $49/mo plus $6/mo per person.
Gusto announced Gusto Solo on 18 August 2025, framed around a market sizing rather than a feature list: “nearly 30 million solopreneurs — one-person businesses with no employees — make up more than 80% of all U.S. small businesses”, earning on Gusto’s own data “more than $290,000 in revenue on average in their first year and over $500,000 by year five.”
Chief Product Officer Tomer London on positioning: “Solopreneurs are redefining what it means to be a small business owner — they’re building serious, revenue-generating companies of one, and they deserve technology built for that ambition.”
The plan covers compliant self-pay with automatic tax filing, a reasonable-salary calculator, S corp election and compliance, plus a Solopreneur Platform bundling Solo 401(k), health benefits, bill pay and invoicing, and contractor payments.
The launch post names no price. Solo first appears in Gusto’s site navigation between the 2 August and 2 September 2025 pricing-page captures (“One employee: Gusto Solo”), initially as an off-page link. It surfaces on the main pricing page itself as a “Pay Myself” tab at $49/mo plus $6/mo per person — the same rate card as Simple — by the 10 September 2026 capture.
