TPG Growth and The Rise Fund take a majority stake in Greenhouse Software

Greenhouse pricing

TPG Growth and The Rise Fund signed a definitive agreement to become majority investors in Greenhouse. Greenhouse disclosed no financial terms; Forbes reported the deal at roughly $500M total at a valuation near $820M post-money.

Greenhouse announced on 14 January 2021 that TPG Growth and The Rise Fund had signed a definitive agreement to partner with the company as majority investors, with the transaction expected to close in the first half of 2021. Greenhouse’s own release cites “over 4,000 businesses” as customers and discloses no financial terms.

Forbes reported the same day that the deal totalled roughly $500M: about $47M of primary capital into the company, plus roughly $450M spent buying shares from existing investors — including Benchmark and Thrive Capital — and from Greenhouse executives and employees, at a valuation near $820M post-money.

The investment is the commercial backdrop to everything that followed on the pricing side: the Interseller acquisition later the same year, the first consumption meter entering Greenhouse’s published contracts in November 2023, and the coordinated legal-and-packaging rewrite of February 2026. Greenhouse has never published a rate for its ATS at any point before or after this transaction.
