Sourcing Automation Addendum introduces Greenhouse’s first contractual usage meter

Greenhouse pricing

Greenhouse published a Sourcing Automation Addendum limiting the licence to the number of users and the amount of candidate lookups set in the Order Form — the first consumption meter anywhere in its published contract stack.

Before

greenhouse.com/legal listed two customer-facing documents: the Master Subscription Agreement and the Service Level Agreement. No Greenhouse contract published a consumption meter of any kind; subscription fees were metered solely on employee headcount.

After

greenhouse.com/legal lists a Data Processing Addendum, a Professional Services Addendum and a Sourcing Automation Addendum alongside the MSA and SLA. The Sourcing Automation Addendum, dated 1 November 2023, grants access limited to the number of users and the amount of candidate lookups specified in the applicable Order Form.

Greenhouse’s legal index went from two customer-facing documents to five between the Internet Archive captures of 17 October 2023 and 8 December 2023. The new documents are a Data Processing Addendum, a Professional Services Addendum and a Sourcing Automation Addendum; the Sourcing Automation Addendum itself is dated “Last Updated: November 1, 2023”.

Section 1 of that addendum is the part that matters commercially. It grants a non-exclusive right to use Sourcing Automation and Sourcing Automation Data “limited to the number of users and the amount of candidate lookups specified in the applicable Order Form” — the first time any Greenhouse contract meters anything other than employee headcount.

The mechanics are documented unusually precisely in the Greenhouse help centre: one successful contact lookup consumes one credit, a phone number returned alongside the email is still one credit, no credit is charged when no email is found, and a credit is automatically refunded if the email is later marked invalid. Credits sit in an annual pool shared across every user holding a Sourcing Automation seat, and there is no in-app purchase path — buying more means contacting the Greenhouse account manager. Sourcing Automation is gated to the Plus and Pro tiers.

Greenhouse's Sourcing Automation Addendum (document dated 'Last Updated: November 1, 2023') first appears on greenhouse.com/legal between the 2023-10-17 and 2023-12-08 Wayback snapshots, alongside the Data Processing Addendum and the Professional Services Addendum. §1 limits the licence to 'the number of users and the amount of candidate lookups specified in the applicable Order Form' — the first consumption meter anywhere in Greenhouse's published contract stack, arriving two years after the Interseller deal.
