Rippling deleted its $8 per-user-per-month headline from the pricing page hero
The hero headline on rippling.com/pricing changed from 'Rippling starts at $8 a month, per user.' to 'Flexible & competitive pricing that fits your business needs'. Nothing else on the page changed. The rate survived only in the page title and meta description for another twelve months.
Hero: 'Rippling starts at $8 a month, per user. Tell us which services you'd like to use and we'll send a custom quote.' CTA 'Get a Free Quote'. Page title: 'Rippling Cost | Starting as low as $8 Per Month'.
Hero: 'Flexible & competitive pricing that fits your business needs. Tell us which services you'd like to use and we'll send a custom quote.' CTA 'Get a Free Quote'. Page title unchanged: 'Rippling Cost | Starting as low as $8 Per Month'.
Rippling had published a per-user entry rate on its pricing page continuously since 2019 — $7 through the 2019-12-13 snapshot, $8 from the 2020-07-02 snapshot. Between the 2024-08-14 and 2024-09-18 archived states that number was removed from the hero and replaced with a claim: “Flexible & competitive pricing that fits your business needs.”
The edit was surgical. The product wall, the five FAQ answers, the star-rating badges and the “Get a Free Quote” CTA are byte-for-byte the same either side of it; only the headline sentence changed. The rate itself did not move — it was still in the page title, still in the meta description, and it is still quoted verbatim on Rippling’s competitor-comparison pages today. What changed was who could see it and when.
Two months later, on the 2024-11-28 snapshot, even the word “pricing” left the hero: “The leading platform for companies that want to grow faster.”
The hero changes from 'Rippling starts at $8 a month, per user.' to 'Flexible & competitive pricing that fits your business needs'. Nothing else on the page moves — same products, same FAQ, same CTA. The rate survives only in the page title and meta description. The last snapshot carrying it in the body is 2024-08-14.
