Rippling restamped its Customer, User, Identity & Device and PEO terms on the same day

Rippling pricing

Four agreements carry a Last Updated date of July 2, 2026: the Customer Terms of Service, the User Terms of Service, the Identity and Device Additional Terms and the PEO Terms of Service. Together they set the minimum-User commitment, the whole-calendar-month rule for added Users, the 5% / CPI-U renewal Fee Cap and the Inventory Management surcharges.

A coordinated legal refresh rather than a single clause change: the Customer Terms of Service, the User Terms of Service, the Identity and Device Additional Terms and the PEO Terms of Service all carry a Last Updated date of July 2, 2026.

The commercially load-bearing clauses in the restamped Customer Terms are 4.1(b), (c) and (d). Section 4.1(b) commits the customer to “a minimum number of Users for each Rippling Service… as stated in the applicable Order Form”, says that number “cannot be decreased during the Subscription Term”, and bills added Users from “the calendar month in which a User is enrolled… regardless of whether the User is only enrolled… for a portion of such month”. Section 4.1(c) sets a $25 fee per returned Pre-Authorized Debit and 1.5% monthly interest on past-due balances. Section 4.1(d), the Fee Cap, limits renewal increases on User-based subscription fees to the greater of 5% or CPI-U — but only for customers coming off a term of at least one year “for which the scope of Rippling Services and payment terms remain the same and the number of Users has not been reduced”, and excluding any time-limited offer or promotion.

Section 9.3 is the mechanism that lets all of this move again: Rippling “may, in its sole discretion, modify or update this Agreement from time to time”, with material changes effective “no earlier than thirty (30) days after they are posted” and continued use constituting acceptance. Changes covering new services, new functionality or legal requirements take effect immediately.

Customer Terms of Service updated — minimum-User commitment restated

The Customer Terms of Service Agreement carries a Last Updated date of July 2, 2026. It binds each customer to a minimum number of Users per Order Form for the Subscription Term, forbids decreasing that number mid-term, bills additional Users from the calendar month they are added regardless of partial-month use, and auto-renews for the shorter of the initial term or twelve months.
