Workday drops Document Storage and Integration Events from Flex Credit metering

Workday pricing

The Flex Credits and Platform Entitlement Policy stops metering Document Storage and Integration Events, leaving API Requests as the only metered platform entitlement, and moves Complimentary Flex Credits to a fixed 1 January reset.

Workday materially narrowed its Flex Credits and Platform Entitlement Policy effective 2026-05-29/30.

Removed from metering: Document Storage and Integration Events. Third-party consultancy documentation of the pre-change policy lists both as metered platform entitlements with baseline allowances by headcount band (500-1,000 GB of document storage and 30,000-80,000 integration events per year) and overage rates drawn from the Flex Credit balance. Neither category appears in the earliest publicly archived version of the policy, dated 2 June 2026, nor in the current 9 July 2026 version. API Requests is now the only metered platform entitlement.

Changed: Complimentary Flex Credits. The policy states verbatim that “For Customers with a Policy Effective Date before May 29, 2026, Complimentary Flex Credits expire and reset each year on the Policy Effective Date. For Customers with a Policy Effective Date of May 29, 2026 or later, Complimentary Flex Credits expire and reset each year on January 1 and the initial grant of Complimentary Flex Credits will be prorated based on the month granted.”

The Planning-without-HCM-or-Financials complimentary allotment reads 10,000 credits in the June 2026 policy; third-party documentation of the pre-change policy reports 5,000.

Third-party reporting adds two transition provisions not stated in the policy PDF: no charge for Application API overages from 2026-05-30 through 2027-01-31, and free Sana plus Self-Service Agent access for Core HCM and Financials customers from 2026-05-30 to 2026-08-31. Those are recorded as third-party reported, not first-party verified.

Platform Entitlement Policy narrowed and credit calendar reset

Document Storage and Integration Events are dropped from the Platform Entitlement Policy and stop consuming Flex Credits, leaving API Requests as the only metered platform entitlement. Complimentary Flex Credits move from resetting on each customer's Policy Effective Date to resetting every 1 January, prorated by month of grant, for policies effective 29 May 2026 or later. The Planning-only allotment is 10,000 credits.
